Build Story

Designed as a sustainable, off-grid home, this conversion combines the efficiency of tiny-home living with the comfort and convenience of a modern residence. Thoughtful technology, intuitive user interfaces, ergonomic storage, durable materials, and careful attention to detail create a practical and comfortable living space built to last for years to come.

Project Role: Lead Builder and Designer

Responsibilities: Layout and design, materials and accessories sourcing, construction and installation of all materials and systems (framing, solar and electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, trim, finishes), and finish photography.

Outsourced Tasks: insulation, engine mechanicals

Build Story

As the general contractor and primary builder, I managed every stage of the project and took on a wide range of roles to bring the original vision to life. The property was designed around a compact yet refined living space connected to a large, highly functional workshop, balancing everyday comfort with practical workspace. Integrated smart-home technology extends throughout the house, shop, and garden, creating an efficient and thoughtfully designed property suited for comfortable country living.

Responsibilities: Layout and design, permitting and legal matters, site prep, excavation, materials and accessories sourcing, construction and installation of all materials and systems (framing, electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, HVAC, paint, trim, finishes, irrigation), garden and landscape design, hardscape installation, planting, and finish photography.

Outsourced Tasks: Exterior framing and siding, concrete floor, primary spray foam insulation, rooftop solar installation

Build Story

Saunas have long fascinated me—not only for their health and lifestyle benefits, but also for their potential as elegant, beautifully designed freestanding structures. I designed and built this one for high performance and comfort, while ensuring it sits naturally within its rural backyard setting.
